The State Bar of Wisconsin’s Board of Governors; Discusses Possible Certification Program for Paralegals

The possibility of a voluntary certification program for paralegals in the state of Wisconsin was discussed when the state bar of governors met last month.

Although the program has not been acted on, the 52 member board took the first steps in discussing such a program.  Aspiring paralegals would need to earn 18 credits from a paralegal program that is ABA-accredited, these could be Online Paralegal Programs or a program offered through a physical class.

Paralegals that are currently employed would be “grandfathered” in based on their experience.
